Missoula County Names New Chief Financial Officer

Posted on January 29, 2026

Missoula County has selected Jessica Yang to serve as its next chief financial officer.

Yang will lead the County’s Financial Services Department and will be responsible for the strategic oversight of all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, payroll, grants, investments and financial reporting. This includes overseeing the development, implementation and monitoring of the County’s annual budgets, including mill levy calculations.

Yang, who starts Feb. 16, comes to Missoula County from the YWCA Missoula, where she’s served as director of finance since 2024. A Certified Public Accountant, she has nearly two decades of experience working in accounting and financial services.

Yang will replace current Chief Financial Officer Andrew Czorny, who will retire at the end of the year after 19 years with Missoula County. The overlap between Yang and Czorny will allow for a more effective transition and training period.

The county commissioners ultimately chose Yang based on her strong background as a CPA and her experience working with complex grant processes.

"Finding someone to replace Andrew Czorny, with his experience and knowledge, was a major undertaking, but we are excited about Jessica's background managing complex financial systems and the energy and ideas she will bring to the role," said Commission Chair Josh Slotnick.

Yang received her undergraduate degree from the University of Montana in business administration – accounting. She also has a Master of Accountancy degree from UM.

"Serving Missoula County is both a professional responsibility and a personal commitment,” Yang said. "I’m honored to join the team and work every day to manage our resources responsibly while supporting a community I care deeply about. I look forward to partnering with staff, leadership and residents to strengthen Missoula County for the long term."

A recording of the public administrative meeting where the commissioners appointed Yang is available on Missoula County’s YouTube channel.
