Seeley Lake Residents Invited to Workshop on Home Wildfire Prep

The Missoula County Wildfire Mitigation Program and partner agencies will host a Pop-Up Wildfire-Prepared Homes Workshop for Seeley Lake residents on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
The workshop will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Seeley Lake Fire Station at 200 Firehouse Drive. Staff from the Missoula County Wildfire Mitigation Program, Seeley Lake Rural Fire District and the U.S. Forest Service and will be on hand to provide information and guide participants on what they need to do to protect their homes from wildfires. Participants can also schedule free risk assessments for their property at the workshop.
The event will include a presentation from wildfire experts on home preparedness and evacuation planning, followed by an interactive activity. Snacks and refreshments will be provided, and participants can enter a raffle for a chance to win prizes.
“The recent devastating wildfires in Spokane have a lot of people on edge,” said Olivia Anderson, wildfire mitigation specialist at Missoula County. “The County and our partners are committed to helping our residents in vulnerable areas take actionable steps to protect their homes from wildfire by hosting events like this and providing other resources.”
